Apply for FundingFrequently Asked Questions
- What industries qualify for merchant cash advance?
- Almost every industry with consistent business bank deposits qualifies for MCA. The strongest industries are restaurants (predictable card volume), contractors (project revenue), healthcare/medical practices (insurance reimbursements), retail, trucking, automotive services, beauty and personal care, fitness and wellness, and food service. The universal minimum is $4,000–$6,000+ in average monthly business bank deposits.
- Are some industries harder to fund than others?
- Yes. Higher-risk industries (bars/nightclubs, food trucks, construction subcontractors) typically see factor rate premiums of 0.05–0.15 above the base rate. Lower-risk industries (medical practices, established restaurants, professional services) receive base rates without industry premium. Industries that most funders decline: cannabis businesses, adult entertainment, and some high-risk financial services.
- Does my industry affect my factor rate?
- Yes — industry risk classification is one of 5–6 factors in MCA underwriting. The industry premium or discount is layered on top of the base rate derived from your revenue, credit, and bank statement history. See our MCA underwriting guide for a complete factor rate breakdown.
- What if my business is in multiple industries?
- If your business spans multiple sectors (e.g., a gym with a retail clothing line), underwriters classify you by your primary revenue source. If 70% of your revenue comes from fitness memberships, you're classified as a gym. Multi-industry businesses should highlight their most stable revenue stream in the application.
