Why Every Document in This Package Matters
Funders evaluate these documents as a system — a complete package with all 9 points funds in hours. A package missing even one item gets held until it's resolved, adding days to your timeline.
- Signed Application — 1 point
- The application authorizes the credit pull, captures business legal name and EIN for underwriting, and confirms the owner's identity and ownership percentage. An unsigned application cannot be submitted to any funder, period. Electronic signature via DocuSign counts as signed.
- 6 Business Bank Statement Months — 1 point each (6 total)
- Bank statements are the underwriting document. Funders calculate average monthly deposits, NSF frequency, existing daily debits, deposit consistency, and seasonal trends. They need 6 consecutive months — not the 6 highest months, not statements from multiple accounts averaged together, and not statements where pages are missing. Each month you have ready earns 1 point.
- Government ID Front — 1 point
- Identity verification required by funders for compliance purposes. The front of your driver's license, state ID, or passport is required for the majority owner. If there are co-owners, some funders request ID for any owner with 25%+ ownership. The image must be clear enough to read the name, ID number, and expiration date.
- Government ID Back — 1 point
- The back of the same ID document. This is the single most commonly missed item in funding applications — applicants submit only the front. The back contains the barcode, magnetic stripe confirmation, and additional security features that funders use for identity verification. Without it, a funder will hold your file.
- Voided Business Check — 1 point
- The voided check provides the account and routing number for the ACH authorization — the daily holdback debit that repays the advance. It must be from the same business account as the bank statements. Writing VOID across a blank check or printing a voided check directly from online banking both work. Do not submit a personal check or a counter check without routing information.
