How to Download Complete Bank Statements as PDFs for Business Funding

Get your four statements in minutes and move your application forward. Your funding opportunity is closer than the paperwork makes it feel.

A complete statement is the PDF your bank itself issues for one statement period, with every page, your business name on it and nothing cropped. A screenshot, a photo, a phone-app transaction list, or a spreadsheet export of transactions does not meet that standard. Sign in to your bank on a computer, open the Statements section for the business account, download one PDF for each of your four most recent complete consecutive months, and open each file to check it before you upload it. The business bank statements must come from an account in the business name; personal, Cash App, Chime and payment-processor statements are not accepted.

Many applications stall at the document step. The usual causes are statements from a personal account, Cash App or other payment-app records, screenshots instead of full PDFs, fewer than four complete consecutive months, and a business name on the statement that does not match the application. This page deals with one piece of that: getting a real, complete statement file out of your bank and checking it before you send it.

Download on a computer, then check each file before it goes into your application.

The download flow, for any bank

  1. Sign in to your bank’s website on a computer, not only the phone app.
  2. Open the business account, not a personal one.
  3. Find the section named Statements or Statements and Documents.
  4. Download the PDF for each of your four most recent complete consecutive months, one file per period.
  5. Open every file and check it against the list below before you upload.

Which files count as a statement, and which do not

A funding source reads your statements to see how money moves through the business. That only works on the document your bank issues. Here is how the common substitutes compare.

Statement formats compared against the bank-issued PDF
What you haveMeets the requirement?Why
Bank-issued statement PDF for the periodYes, when it is completeIt is the statement itself: every page, the account name, the period, the totals.
Screenshot of the statement or of the app screenNoIt shows only what fit on the screen and drops page numbers, headers and anything below the fold.
Phone photo of a paper statementNoGlare, shadow and cut-off edges make figures unreadable, and pages go missing easily.
Transaction list printed or saved from the websiteNoIt is a list of activity, not the statement the bank issues for a period.
CSV, QuickBooks or other transaction exportNoUseful for your own books, but it is not the bank-issued statement.
Card-processor or payment-app reportNoIt shows activity inside that service, not your bank account. Payment-processor, Cash App and Chime statements are not accepted.

Where each bank’s own help says to look

Menu names change, and most banks hold business accounts in a separate online banking product. The table below reports only what each bank’s own help or product page said when we read it on October 22, 2026, and says plainly where a page did not answer. If your screen looks different, trust your bank’s current site and ask the bank.

Statement locations as described on each bank’s own help pages
BankWhere the bank says to lookFormat and how far backWhat the page did not confirm
Wells FargoSign on to Wells Fargo Online, then open the statement you want. Only one statement can be selected at a time. Save it to your computer with a .pdf extension and a name you will recognise.PDF. Statements are kept online for up to 7 years for most checking accounts. Business customers use Wells Fargo Business Online. The page does not mention screenshots.
PNCOnline Banking: Accounts, pick the account, Account Quick View, Statements and Documents, then View PDF. Mobile app: More, Statements and Documents, pick an account and a year.PDF. Up to 7 years for checking and savings. History may not be available for closed accounts. The page we read describes personal Online Banking and does not say whether business accounts follow the same path.
U.S. BankOnline banking: Accounts, choose the document type, pick the account, choose a year for older documents, then select the link to view, print or download. Mobile app: main menu, Statements and docs.Up to 7 years of e-statements on digital banking. The latest e-statement appears after the billing cycle closes. The page does not name a file format, so confirm you end up with a PDF.
Bank of AmericaSmall Business Online Banking: the Statements and Documents tab for your account. You can view, download, save or print. If a download fails, the page suggests trying a different browser.PDF. Statements usually appear around the same date each month, based on your statement closing date. The page does not say how many months or years stay online.
TruistThe small business online banking page says you can download or print up to 18 months of account history, including check images and deposit tickets. Not stated for statements. That page does not describe where monthly statements are. Account history is not the same as a statement, so look for a Statements or Documents section after you sign in.
ChaseThe Chase page we read is for card-processing (merchant services) statements: sign in to Chase Business Online and choose Statements below the dashboard, which lists up to 7 years. Not stated for the page we read.Merchant services statements are not bank statements. We could not confirm business checking steps from a Chase help page, so ask Chase or use the Statements link for the checking account.
Capital OneThe help page we read covers turning on paperless statements through Account Services and Settings, then Paperless. Not stated. It gives no steps for viewing past statements and does not mention business accounts, so we cannot give steps. Ask Capital One where the business account statements are.

If your bank is not listed, the same pattern usually applies: sign in on a computer, open the business account, find the section named Statements or Statements and Documents, and download one file per period.

Check every file before you upload it

Open each PDF and go through this list. It takes a minute per file and prevents most rejected uploads.

  1. The business name on the statement is the name of the business applying, and it is a business account, not a personal one.
  2. It covers one full statement period. The start and end dates are printed on the first page.
  3. You have four files, one for each of the four most recent complete months, in a row with no gap and no repeat.
  4. You scrolled to the last page. If the pages are numbered, the last page number matches the number of pages in the file.
  5. Nothing is cropped, covered or blacked out. Do not redact anything.
  6. Each file opens on its own and the text is readable at normal zoom.
  7. You named the files so you can tell them apart, for example by month and year.

Four files checked? You are ready to move forward.

Apply, sign and upload your four statements. A funding source takes it from there. Business funding opportunities run from $10,000 to $5,000,000; availability is not approval.

When the statement is not where you expect it

What happens to the files next

T.A.G. confirms the application is complete and sends it to a funding source. That funding source reviews your cash flow and makes its own decision, and T.A.G. does not underwrite. Later stages may include verifying your statements against your bank’s records, which is easier when the files you sent are the bank’s own complete PDFs. The full sequence is in what happens after you apply.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take screenshots of my statements if the bank site is slow?

No. A screenshot captures only the part of the screen you see and loses page numbers, headers and totals. Download the bank-issued PDF for each statement period. If the download fails, try another browser or call the number on your bank statement and ask how to get the PDF.

Is downloading my transactions to a spreadsheet or QuickBooks the same as a statement?

No. A transaction export, such as a CSV or accounting-software file, is a list of activity, not the statement your bank issues for a period. Banks usually offer both in different places, so look for the section named Statements or Statements and Documents.

My phone app only shows recent transactions. What should I do?

Use your bank’s website on a computer and look for the statements section for the business account. If you cannot find it, ask the bank how to get the statement for each of the last four complete months, and upload the PDFs it provides.

The current month is not finished. Should I include it?

No. Use the four most recent complete consecutive statement periods. A period that is still open, or a partial month, does not count toward the four.

Which statements does a funding source need from me?

The four most recent complete consecutive business bank statements, from an account in the business’s name, with every page and nothing redacted. Personal, Cash App, Chime and payment-processor statements are not accepted. The funding source, not T.A.G., decides whether to approve.

My bank gave me a password-protected PDF. Can I upload it?

Send a file that opens without a password. Ask your bank how to get an unlocked copy of the statement, or download it again from the statements section, and open the file yourself before uploading.

My bank split one statement into several files. What should I do?

Upload every file for that statement period so no page is missing, and name them so the order is clear, for example by month, year and part number. Check that together they cover the full period.

What if the account is closed, or the name on the statement differs from my application?

Tell us before you upload. For a closed account, ask your bank how to get the statements for the periods you need. For a name difference, such as a legal name versus a trade name, it is better to explain it up front. We cannot promise how a funding source will treat any particular difference.
