Fundability Score FAQ
- What is a fundability score?
- A fundability score is a 0 to 100 rating that estimates how likely your business is to qualify for merchant cash advance funding based on key underwriting factors: monthly revenue, time in business, amount requested relative to revenue, existing advances, and industry.
- What score do I need to qualify for an MCA?
- A score of 55 or higher typically indicates a strong application. Scores of 35 to 54 represent borderline cases that may qualify with additional review. Scores below 35 suggest the application may not meet current underwriting criteria.
- What factors determine my fundability score?
- Your fundability score is based on five factors: monthly bank deposits, deposit consistency, FICO score, time in business, and existing advance balances. Higher scores in each category compound into a better overall funding profile and access to more competitive terms.
- Does checking my fundability score affect my credit?
- No. The fundability score assessment uses a soft credit inquiry only, which does not affect your FICO score. A hard inquiry only occurs if you formally apply for funding and the lender requires it: which MCA funders typically do not for initial qualification.
- How can I improve my fundability score quickly?
- The fastest improvements come from reducing overdrafts (immediate), increasing average daily balance (30 days), and consolidating deposits into one primary business account (immediate). FICO improvements take longer: 60 to 180 days depending on the specific factor you are improving.
