Bank Partner Program FAQ

How does the bank referral partner program work?
When a bank declines a business loan application, the banker refers the applicant to T.A.G. Business Funding using a unique referral link or code. T.A.G. reviews the application using different underwriting criteria (revenue-based, not collateral-based); the funding provider sets the decision and funding timeline after reviewing the file. The referring bank retains the client relationship while helping the business owner get funded.
What types of declined businesses can you fund?
T.A.G. Business Funding can consider businesses with 6+ months in business, $4,000+ in monthly deposits, and a 500+ credit score. This includes businesses declined for insufficient collateral, credit score below bank threshold, insufficient time in business (bank requires 2 years, MCA requires 6 months), and revenue below bank minimums.
Is there any cost or obligation to join the partner network?
No. Joining the Bank Turndown Partner Network is free. There is no minimum referral volume, no exclusivity requirement, and no fee to enroll. Partners receive a unique referral code and access to client-facing handout materials.
Is it compliant for a loan officer to refer declined clients for MCA?
Yes, with proper disclosure. Referring declined clients to an ISO partner for MCA is a common and compliant practice in the lending industry. Many banks have formal ISO referral programs. Consult your bank's compliance officer for your institution's specific referral disclosure requirements.
